| Like most industries the need for ever stricter controls on emissions to air and water have necessitated heavy investment in abatement controls. The Mastermelt Group is proud of its record of investment in plant and controls to meet and exceed current and future planned environmental legislation. | |||||||
| The Presman Mastermelt Group takes Environmental issues very seriously as this is the only course for sustainable development. All our sites are licensed with the UK Government Authorities to recycle materials containing precious metals. The Buxton site was authorised in 2003 by the UK Environmental Agency as a PPC [Prevention & Pollution Controlled] operation. All three UK companies, Mastermelt Ltd, Mastermelt Refining Services Ltd and Phoenix County Metal Ltd are ISO 14001 registered so providing customers with the confidence of the Groups commitment to meet ever changing environmental legislation. Both sites have invested heavily in new gas abatement systems which are continually monitored to ensure incineration and chemical processing are performed well within EU limits by using best available technology. Collections of any hazardous materials from customers are made by ADR trained drivers following completion of the relevant Environmental Agency documentation. The Group is committed to continued investment in this area so providing customers with the confidence their materials will be recycled in accordance with the latest and future EU legislation.
